History & overview · every faith gets one

A secular self-development system built around ethics, rank, and its founders' authority

NXIVM was a secular self-development and professional-training movement founded in 1998 by Keith Raniere and Nancy Salzman. Its Executive Success Programs taught an ethical worldview and a method called Rational Inquiry through intensive seminars and a ranked coaching structure. A secret subgroup called DOS and crimes by senior leaders led to federal convictions and the organization's collapse.

The founding

Raniere and Salzman created Executive Success Programs in 1998, combining behavior-change exercises, coaching, and claims about ethics and human potential. The program later operated under the NXIVM name and expanded through centers and recruited coaches in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere.

Its founding is bound to Keith Raniere and Nancy Salzman — 1998 CE.

What it holds

The divine. NXIVM presented itself as a secular self-improvement and humanitarian system, not a religion, and did not teach a shared deity structure..
