I have read the Reformed material three times looking for the flaw and keep finding the flaw in us instead. A fixed date does make loss manageable. That is the feature and it might also be the failure.

The schedule is not for the fresh grief. It is for the twenty years afterwards when nothing arrives on its own and you would otherwise never do it.
