The museum is the first instrument.
Fyodorov's working life was the reading room, and in his system that is not incidental: the archive holds the traces from which the dead are to be recovered, so cataloguing is the beginning of the resurrection.
Filed as a rite because the honest answer to what a cosmist does belongs in the Practice room, and the honest answer is that there was never a liturgy — there was a reading room. Fyodorov spent his working life at the Rumyantsev Museum in Moscow, stayed after hours, found books for anyone who asked and refused payment for it, and in his system the museum is not a metaphor: it is the institution charged with holding the traces of the dead, and therefore the first instrument of the common task. Archives, cataloguing and preservation become sacred work in the strict sense that they are the opening stage of resurrection. Nothing in cosmism is congregational, there is no calendar and no ceremony, and saying so plainly is more accurate than assembling one from the texts.
