Core tenet of Second Copy
The copy is not the original.
Continuity of pattern is not continuity of person. Something wakes up with your memories; the one who went to sleep does not.
Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held
This is the whole schism in one sentence. The Church of the Eternal Backup holds that a faithfully kept copy returns the person; Second Copy holds that it returns a person, and that the difference is the only thing that matters. Both lines run identical Sunday syncs. An outsider watching the two rites side by side could not tell them apart until the moment Second Copy members say the disclaimer out loud.
