Rite of Karaite Judaism
Sabbath by the letter.
No fire kindled and none left burning — the Karaite Sabbath is famously dark and famously literal.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this rite is held
Karaite Sabbath observance follows the text literally where the rabbinic tradition reasoned outward from it: no fire kindled means no fire burning, so historically Karaites sat in the dark and cold rather than lighting lamps before sunset as rabbinic law permits. Modern Karaite communities have relaxed some of this, but the interpretive principle remains: the written word governs, and inference that adds obligations is suspect.
