The Brahma Kumaris

Movement·Founded 1937 CE·The organisation reports more than one million students at over 8,000 centres in about 110 countries. Students are counted by attendance at the daily class, not by conversion, so the figure means something different from a membership roll.

What it aims atRemembrance — the practice is called Raja Yoga and is done with the eyes open on purpose
Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this rite is held

Amrit vela means the nectar hour, and it means about four in the morning. Students sit upright with the eyes open and soft, often in front of a soft red light representing the point of light, and hold awareness of the soul in connection with the Supreme Soul. Nothing is chanted and nothing is visualised in the usual sense. Keeping the hour is the discipline that most distinguishes committed students from occasional attenders, and it is followed by the Murli class after dawn — seven days a week, in centres worldwide, in Hindi with translations.
