Sing HU.

A long, sung syllable, twenty minutes a day, alone. Eckankar treats it as the oldest name of God and teaches it to anyone, member or not.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this rite is held

HU is sung on a long outbreath, aloud or inwardly, for about twenty minutes. Eckankar calls it an ancient name for God and — unusually — teaches it to anyone, running public HU Songs open to non-members. The instruction afterwards is to sit in silence and watch what arrives, and to write it down. Members treat the exercise as the working core of the path and one that requires no permission from anyone; the initiations that follow are described as recognitions of a state already reached rather than as grants of access.
