Life here was designed, in a laboratory, by people.
Not created and not evolved without help: the Elohim, a species from another world, engineered terrestrial life and recorded the work. Raëlism reads Genesis as a lab notebook.
The Raëlian account is that the Elohim of Genesis were a plural of persons, not a plural of majesty — scientists from another world who synthesised terrestrial life in laboratories about 25,000 years ago and were mistaken for gods by the people they made. It is a straightforward reading of a real translation problem, extended much further than any philologist would take it. The movement uses it to reconcile scripture with biology on its own terms: the designers were real, the design was technical, and every religion is a garbled record of contact. Scientists have not engaged with the claim; the movement's answer is that the embassy is the experiment.
