Core tenet of Wiccaheld by most
The circle is the temple.
No buildings needed: cast the circle, call the quarters, and any ground becomes sacred for exactly as long as the rite lasts.
Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held
Wicca requires no building: a circle is cast wherever practitioners are, the quarters are called, and the space is consecrated for the duration and released afterward. That portability is part of the appeal and part of the history — the religion emerged when practicing it openly was legally risky in Britain, since the Witchcraft Act was not repealed until 1951. Covens still often meet in living rooms and gardens.
