One incarnate nature of the Word.
The Word did not attach himself to a man — God became one of us without ceasing to be God. Divinity and humanity are united in Christ without mingling, confusion or alteration, out of two natures, one. When Chalcedon said in two natures, Alexandria heard two Christs and refused.

The whole quarrel may have been about words.
In 1990 the joint commission of the two Orthodox families signed a statement at Chambesy saying both had always held the same christological faith in different vocabularies. Bishops on both sides signed. Monasteries on both sides declined to act on it, and no communion has followed.
