The Nineveh fast, and the Qurbono.
Three days of strict fasting before Lent, kept with the East Syriac churches even though the rite is West Syriac, and then the year's Qurbono in the modes of the Beth Gazo. The Syriac Catholic Church is one of the few places where the two Syriac traditions' calendars overlap in practice.
The Rogation of the Ninevites is properly an East Syriac observance and its keeping by West Syriac Christians in Iraq and Syria is a regional inheritance rather than a rubric. Syriac Catholics observe it strictly. The Qurbono itself follows the Anaphora of Saint James with a rotation of alternative anaphoras, chanted in the eight modes catalogued in the Beth Gazo, in Syriac with Arabic increasingly carrying the readings and the homily. Diaspora parishes in Sweden, Germany, the United States, Canada and Australia now hold a large share of the church, and the language question there is the same one the Syriac Orthodox face.
