Core tenet of Unitarian Universalism

Revelation is not sealed.

Six sources feed the tradition — prophets, world religions, reason and science, earth-centered wisdom — and the canon stays open by design.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held

The movement's formal position is that revelation is not sealed — no text, prophet, or age has the last word, and new understanding may arrive from science, art, or ordinary experience. That commitment came out of Universalism's conviction that a loving God saves everyone and Unitarianism's rejection of the Trinity as unscriptural, two liberal Christian movements that merged in 1961 and have moved a considerable distance from those origins since.
