The Divine Liturgy.

Incense, icons, chant — heaven visiting earth on a weekly schedule.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this rite is held

The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom is used most Sundays and runs roughly ninety minutes to two hours, sung throughout, traditionally with the congregation standing. Instruments are generally absent — the human voice only. The rhythm is deliberately unhurried, and Orthodox writers describe the length as part of the point: the liturgy is not a service to be fitted into a schedule but a duration one enters.
