Core tenet of Jehovah's Witnesses

Every Witness is a minister.

The knock on the door: preaching is not a clergy's job, because there is no clergy.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held

Every baptized Witness is a minister with a reporting obligation for hours spent in public preaching — the door-to-door work that is the movement's most recognizable feature. There is no paid clergy; congregations are led by unpaid elders, and the organization is directed by a Governing Body in New York. The publishing output, in over 1,000 languages, is among the largest of any religious organization on earth.
