Core tenet of Shaktism
The divine feminine acts in the world.
Durga rides out when the gods themselves fail.
Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held
What distinguishes Shaktism from traditions that merely include goddesses is that Shakti is the agent: creation, preservation, and destruction are all her activity, and the gods act through her rather than the reverse. Her fierce forms — Kali dancing on Shiva, Durga riding a lion into battle — are not exceptions to a nurturing default but central, and devotees describe the fierceness as maternal rather than despite being maternal.
