X-Day.
The Xists were to arrive at 7 a.m. on 5 July 1998 and take the paid-up membership off the planet. They did not. The church has gathered every July since, waits out the night, and burns an effigy of Bob at dawn.
X-Day is a failed apocalypse kept deliberately, every July, at a campground in western New York. The membership arrives, drinks, performs, stays awake through the night of 4 July, and at 7 a.m. on the 5th watches a sky that stays empty. Then an effigy of Bob is burned. It is the only religious festival in this corpus whose content is the non-arrival of its own promise, and the church's handling of the disconfirmation is the reason sociologists of religion write about it: rather than reinterpreting the prophecy or abandoning it, the SubGenius simply reschedule the date each year and keep the party. The 2006 custody case that removed a member's child from her arose directly from photographs taken at an X-Day performance.
