Core tenet of Islam
The Quran is the speech of God.
Recited, not authored — revealed in Arabic and preserved as revealed.
Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held
The Quran is held to be God's speech verbatim — not inspired paraphrase but dictation, in Arabic, through one man over twenty-three years. Its untranslatable eloquence (i'jaz) is itself the standing miracle; a translation is legally a commentary. This is why recitation, not silent reading, is the primary way the book is met.
From the sources — the passages this rests on; concise renderings, cited
This is the Book about which there is no doubt — a guidance for the God-conscious.
