Core tenet of The Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God

The Virgin speaks, and the end has a date.

Mwerinde, Kibwetere and Kashaku each reported apparitions, and the movement treated the instructions as current and binding. The end was expected at the close of 1999; when it did not come the date moved, and members were told to sell what remained and gather.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held

Marian apparition is mainstream Catholic territory and Uganda had a live example next door — Kibeho in Rwanda, where apparitions reported from 1981 were eventually approved by the local bishop and had included visions of massacre. The Restoration's claim was not that Mary had appeared once but that she was in continuous instructional contact through three named people. The end was expected at the close of 1999. When it did not come, the failure was absorbed rather than admitted: members were told to sell what remained and gather, and the date moved to 17 March 2000.
