Stories

the narratives it tells itself
The judgment of 1889. The reform party and the party loyal to the Patriarch of Antioch went to law over the Malankara church's property, and in 1889 the Royal Court of Final Appeal in Travancore ruled against the reformers. They lost the seminary, the endowments and most of the churches, and walked out with the reform and a bishop. The Mar Thoma Church has existed as a separate body since. Read it in full — context →
