Precept of The Unification Church (Family Federation)

Absolute sexual purity.

The standard is strict before marriage and inside it, and is preached as the single point on which the restoration turns. The second generation's response to it is the movement's live argument.

What it asksAbsolute sexual purity before marriage and inside it, and the family treated as the school of love
Who it bindsEvery blessed member; the standard is preached as the movement's whole point
Where it bitesOn the second generation, born into the blessing and choosing whether to take it
Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held

The standard is absolute: no sexual relationship before marriage, complete fidelity within it, and no divorce except in extremity. Members describe it as the discipline that makes the rest coherent, given that the fall is read as a sexual failure. Two things sit awkwardly beside it in the record. The founder's own biography — an early marriage that ended, and children outside the blessing — was published by his former daughter-in-law and has been contested by the church. And the second generation, raised inside the standard and living in societies that do not share it, is where the argument now runs.
