The dyophysite confession, sharpened against Ephesus: fully God and fully man, unconfused.
The Church of the East rejected the Council of Ephesus in 431 and its condemnation of Nestorius, holding that Christ's divine and human natures remain distinct rather than being confused in the union. The 1994 Common Christological Declaration with Rome effectively settled the ancient dispute as one of terminology.
