Rite of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The sacrament meeting.

Bread and water in memory of Christ — the weekly renewal of baptismal covenants.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this rite is held

Sacrament meeting is the Sunday service, and its two most notable features are the sacrament itself — bread and water, passed by teenage boys holding the Aaronic priesthood — and the fact that the speakers are ordinary members assigned in advance rather than clergy. There is no paid local ministry: the bishop has a day job, the talks are given by whoever was asked, and the lay structure is a large part of how the church generates commitment.
