Devi — the Goddess.

Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati: the divine feminine as power itself (shakti) — in the Shakta stream, the supreme reality outright.

Understanding it — context, not catechism: how this passage is held

Where other traditions cast the divine feminine as consort, the Shakta stream inverts the hierarchy: Devi is shakti, the power by which anything happens at all — the gods act only because she moves them. Durga rides to war, Kali wears time itself as a garland; both are her.

From the sources — the passages this rests on; concise renderings, cited

By you this universe is borne, by you this world is created; by you it is protected, and you always consume it at the end.
